While I was a healthy child and teenager, I, unfortunately, picked up the habit of smoking cigarettes when I was in my early 20s. I started smoking socially without realizing that smoking just a few cigarettes could quickly turn into a daily habit. I smoked for a few years before I became determined to quit to improve my health. After my first few attempts at quitting on my own, I almost "threw in the towel" and decided I was doomed to continue my unhealthy habit for life. I finally spoke to my doctor about quitting, and with their help, I am finally smoke-free! I am now dedicated to living a completely healthy lifestyle, and I never want to feel unhealthy again.
